Swimmers of the U.S. Olympic Team have won more Gold Medals at the Olympic Gamers than any other nation. Held every four years, the 2000 Summer Olympic Games took place in Sydney, Australia September 15 – October 1. There were a total of 32 swimming events in four strokes: freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly; 16 events for men and 16 events for women.
